What businesses require electrical testing and tagging?

Just about all business, whether small or large, need appliance and cable testing and tagging but depending on the type of business and the environmental conditions the electrical appliances are subjected to. Also the frequency of testing required can vary and must comply to WHS legislation.
Do I need test and tag services?

Your business will need to get your electrical equipment tagged and tested if:
- you have areas where the public my be in contact with electrical equipment
- if you have cables that are constantly being plugged in and unplugged or moved to different locations.
- if you may have electrical equipment and cables in an environment where it may become damaged, reduce its life span, or is expose to water, moisture, heat, vibration, mechanical damage, corrosive substances or dust that is likely to result in damage to the item of equipment or effect the safe operation of equipment.
- if you have a shop or a stall in a shopping centre
- construction or demolition sites - regular periodic testing and tagging is mandatory
- If electrical equipment forms part of, or is used in connection with, an amusement device.
- Electrical equipment used on construction or demolition sites must be regularly inspected and tested in accordance with Australian Standard AS/NZS 3012: 2010 Electrical installations - Construction and demolition sites.
- A risk assessment may be carried out if not sure if test and tagging is needed.
